Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming secondary school in Birkenhead. We seek an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team and help young people reach their potential.

You will support students in lessons, assist teachers, and provide tailored SEND support to meet individual needs, while encouraging engagement and independence in a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school.
• Experience supporting students with SEND.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, caring, and committed to helping young people reach their potential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students in lessons on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning.
• Providing tailored support for students with SEND, adapting approach to meet individual needs.
• Encouraging student engagement, confidence and independence.
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff to promote positive learning outcomes.
• Helping to maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
