Job summary

Supply Desk is recruiting a dedicated Secondary Cover Supervisor for a school in Rickmansworth. The role focuses on supervising lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering pre-prepared materials and supporting learners to stay engaged in learning during absence of teaching staff.

The ideal candidate will have experience with children, strong communication and classroom management skills, and the ability to adapt across subjects while creating a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
• Confident in managing classrooms and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Adaptable to support students across a range of subjects.
• Committed to creating a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes and ensure students remain focused and engaged with the work provided by the classroom teacher.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and provide appropriate support to students where required.
• Use a variety of approaches to support learners of differing abilities and learning styles.
• Create a positive classroom environment where students feel motivated, supported, and confident to learn.
• Monitor student behaviour and maintain high standards of discipline in line with the school's policies and expectations.
• Work closely with teaching staff and colleagues to ensure continuity of learning and support student progress.
• Promote high standards of behaviour, effort, and participation across all lessons.
