Job summary

Step Teachers is seeking Cover Supervisors for day-to-day supply across various secondary schools in the Liverpool area. You will supervise classes when teachers are absent, deliver planned lessons, and help maintain order and focus in a dynamic school setting.

The role offers flexible daily assignments, with opportunities to engage with different age groups and subjects while supporting students' learning and wellbeing. An Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils in educational settings.
• Confident classroom presence and strong behaviour management skills.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and maintain continuity of learning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible and proactive across different schools.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during short-term absence of the class teacher.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and keep pupils on task.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviour.
• Support pupils in their learning and encourage positive engagement.
• Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Adapt quickly to different school settings and routines.
