Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting confident Cover Supervisors to work in Widnes-based secondary schools. You will deliver pre-set work across a range of subjects, using strong classroom management to keep students engaged and ensure lessons run smoothly in the teacher's absence.

The role offers day-to-day, long-term, and permanent placements with competitive pay. A dedicated consultant team provides 24/7 onboarding support, CPD opportunities, and generous referral incentives.

Qualifications

• The successful Cover Supervisor will have CACHE Level 2/3 or at least 6 months' experience with secondary-aged students.
• Confidence managing classes of students aged 11 to 16+.
• Excellent behaviour management and ability to keep students engaged throughout lessons.
• Good subject knowledge across the secondary curriculum and confidence delivering pre-planned work.
• Flexibility to work across different departments and year groups.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-set work across a variety of subjects in the absence of the teacher.
• Maintain a positive learning environment and ensure lessons run smoothly.
• Support students to achieve learning objectives and stay engaged during lessons.
