Job summary

Masterclass Education is recruiting a dedicated Science Technician for a welcoming secondary school in Arundel. You will support teachers and pupils by preparing lessons, maintaining equipment, and ensuring resources are ready for use in a practical science environment.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a laboratory environment is desirable.
• A science qualification (GCSE, A-Level, or higher) is advantageous.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of laboratory health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach.
• Genuine interest in supporting young people's education.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment, materials, and chemicals for practical science lessons.
• Set up and clear away practical experiments safely and efficiently.
• Maintain, clean, and service laboratory equipment.
• Store chemicals and equipment in line with health and safety regulations.
• Monitor stock levels and order laboratory supplies when required.
• Dispose of waste materials safely in line with COSHH guidance.
• Support teachers with practical demonstrations where appropriate.
• Keep laboratories, preparation rooms, and storage areas clean and organised.
• Assist with risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
