Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Science Technician or within a laboratory environment.
• A science qualification (GCSE, A-Level, or higher) is advantageous.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of laboratory health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach.
• A genuine interest in supporting young people's education.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment, materials, and chemicals for practical science lessons.
• Set up and clear away practical experiments safely and efficiently.
• Maintain, clean, and service laboratory equipment.
• Ensure chemicals and equipment are stored in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Monitor stock levels and order laboratory supplies when required.
• Dispose of waste materials safely and in line with COSHH guidance.
• Support teachers with practical demonstrations where appropriate.
• Keep laboratories, preparation rooms, and storage areas clean and organised.
• Assist with risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
