Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Teacher - Post-Primary to deliver science instruction at the post-primary level in Omagh. The role requires planning, delivering lessons, and assessing pupil progress while upholding NI education standards.

You will contribute to the school’s pastoral framework, engage with parents, and participate in curriculum development sessions as part of a collaborative team. A NI teaching qualification and GTCNI registration are essential.

Qualifications

• Holds a teaching qualification recognised to teach in grant-aided schools in NI.
• Holds a degree or Level 6 qualification prepared to teach Science as main subject.
• Evidence of experience teaching Science at post-primary level.
• Be registered with the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI) before taking up post.
• Pre-employment checks will apply.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver courses and lessons.
• Teach pupils according to their educational needs and assess their work.
• Assess, record and report development, progress and attainment.
• Promote pupil welfare and provide guidance on education and careers.
• Maintain good order and safety in the classroom and participate in pastoral duties.
• Attend assemblies and support school administration and curriculum planning.
