Job summary

Madison Reign Ltd is seeking confident, reliable Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across St Albans and the surrounding areas. This role involves supervising classes during short-term absence and delivering pre-prepared work to keep students engaged while upholding a positive learning environment.

Ideal candidates are graduates or education professionals with excellent communication, classroom management and a calm, adaptable approach.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Experience with young people desirable.
• Excellent communication and classroom management.
• Confidence in leading groups independently.
• Calm, adaptable and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure students remain focused on learning.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.
• Support students in completing classwork and encourage positive engagement.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment.
• Record attendance and report any concerns or incidents to teaching staff.
• Provide feedback to teachers regarding student participation, behaviour and lesson outcomes.
• Support students with additional learning needs where appropriate.
• Assist with the smooth running of the school day, including break duties where required.
• Follow school safeguarding, health and safety and behaviour policies at all times.
• Build positive relationships with students, teachers and wider school staff.
• Attend training and professional development opportunities where appropriate.
