Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in the Telford and Shropshire area. You will deliver pre-planned lessons, maintain a positive learning environment and keep pupils engaged while stepping into busy school settings.

We look for candidates with at least 6 months of school experience, a degree, strong classroom management, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience working within a school setting.
• A degree (essential requirement).
• Strong classroom management skills.
• A calm, patient and reliable approach.
• The ability to work well under pressure and solve problems quickly.
• Confidence in supporting pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A flexible and consistent approach to availability, including daily emergency cover and long-term assignments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-set lesson plans across a variety of subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a positive and focused learning environment.
• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEND needs where required.
• Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff.
• Adapt quickly to different school environments and year groups.
• Support learning continuity during staff absence.
