Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Religious Studies at secondary level.
• Strong knowledge of KS3 and KS4 curriculum.
• Ability to lead balanced discussions and explain complex ideas clearly.
• Effective behaviour management, organisation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Religious Studies lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teach topics covering world religions, beliefs, practices, ethics and philosophical questions.
• Prepare students for assessments and GCSE examinations.
• Encourage respectful debate, independent thinking and evidence-based discussion.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet students with different abilities.
• Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment built on respect and participation.
• Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development and shared resources.
• Support students in developing analytical writing and well-reasoned arguments.
