Job summary

Supply Desk is recruiting an RE Teacher for a Southampton secondary school to start October 2026. The role is full-time and covers RE across KS3 and KS4, with a long-term contract through April 2027. Daily pay ranges from £175 to £260 depending on experience.

The appointed teacher will deliver engaging RE lessons, plan and assess work, monitor progress, maintain high behaviour standards, and contribute to the school community with strong safeguarding commitments.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Religious Education at secondary level.
• Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for RE.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality RE lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the curriculum.
• Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and achievement.
• Inspire students through engaging and inclusive teaching.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the department.
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
