Job summary

Senploy seeks enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistants to support pupils across Lewisham schools. The role involves helping in literacy, numeracy and creative activities, both 1:1 and in groups, within a calm and inclusive classroom environment.

Ideal candidates have experience with children, strong communication skills, and a genuine interest in education, with an Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one. Full-time hours in Lewisham.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people.
• Experience in a school, nursery, tutoring, childcare or youth work desirable.
• A patient, positive and reliable approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Confidence supporting pupils with different learning needs.
• A genuine interest in education and child development.
• An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
• Work with pupils on a 1:1, small group and whole-class basis.
• Assist the class teacher with learning activities and classroom routines.
• Support pupils with literacy, numeracy, phonics and creative learning.
• Help maintain positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
• Support pupils with different abilities, including those with additional needs.
• Help create a calm, inclusive and encouraging classroom environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
