Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is assisting a highly regarded school in Sutton to recruit a Maths Teacher for KS3 and KS4. The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons, develop numeracy skills and prepare students for GCSE examinations.

The role requires QTS or equivalent, strong subject knowledge and excellent classroom management. You will work within a supportive department committed to high expectations and student progress.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level.
• Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 Mathematics curriculum.
• Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly.
• Effective classroom management and communication skills.
• A commitment to supporting students of different abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teach algebra, geometry, statistics, probability, number and ratio.
• Develop students' problem-solving, reasoning and analytical skills.
• Prepare pupils for internal assessments and GCSE examinations.
• Differentiate lessons to support students who require additional guidance and challenge higher-attaining learners.
• Assess students' work regularly and provide constructive feedback.
• Use a range of teaching resources to explain mathematical concepts clearly.
• Maintain positive classroom behaviour and encourage active participation.
• Contribute to departmental planning, revision sessions and curriculum development.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to share resources and effective teaching strategies.
