Job summary

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Locum Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology to support services across North and Mid Hampshire. The post involves leading specialist inpatient and outpatient care within a growing multidisciplinary team and contributing to service development and innovation.

The role includes triage of referrals, inpatient reviews, and ongoing teaching and supervision of junior medical staff, with opportunities to develop specialist interests.

Responsibilities

Specialist inpatient Diabetes and Endocrinology care
General medical ward support in a 25-bed ward
Triage of referrals and Advice & Guidance requests
Inpatient Diabetes and Endocrine reviews
Specialist outpatient clinics in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Diabetic Foot services
Multidisciplinary team working with nurses, dietitians and resident doctors
Teaching, training and supervision of junior medical staff
Clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and service development initiatives
