Basildon Hospital is seeking a passionate Consultant with a strong interest in diabetes and endocrine sub‑specialties to deliver and develop a broad range of outpatient services. The role covers inpatient and outpatient care across a supportive MDT in a dynamic diabetes and endocrinology setting.

You will run several outpatient clinics weekly, including diabetic foot, antenatal diabetes, and multidisciplinary diabetes care, while taking part in ward rounds and diabetes inpatients management.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver and develop a broad range of sub-specialty outpatient diabetes clinics, including diabetic foot, insulin pump/hybrid closed‑loop clinics, antenatal diabetes, multidisciplinary diabetic foot‑care, complex diabetes, and general endocrine clinics.
• Contribute to rotational ward cover and manage inpatient care on the 27‑bed Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Medicine ward, including inpatient diabetes support.
• Lead approximately five outpatient clinics weekly and participate in antenatal and foot‑care ward rounds.
• Provide electronic triage, Advice & Guidance, and cross‑specialty support, working with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care.
• Engage in MDT meetings and collaborative work across departments to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care.

• Diabetic foot
• Insulin Pump / Hybrid Closed-Loop Clinics
• Antenatal Diabetes Clinics
• Multidisciplinary Diabetic Foot-care Clinics
• Complex Diabetes Clinics
• General Endocrine Clinics

You will also be involved in rotational ward cover and will help manage inpatient care on our 27-bed Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Medicine ward, as well as supporting diabetes outliers and our inpatient diabetes team. Additional responsibilities include:

• Weekly schedule of approximately 5 outpatient clinics
• Involvement in antenatal and foot-care ward rounds
• Providing electronic triage, Advice & Guidance, and support across specialties
• Active participation in our established multidisciplinary meetings and collaborative working across departments
