Job summary

PK Education are seeking a qualified IT / Computer Science Teacher to work in a large secondary school in Rotherham. The role covers IT, ICT and CS across KS3/KS4, with potential involvement in GCSE Computer Science and Creative iMedia.

A DBS check is expected, and the post offers flexible full-time or temporary opportunities. Applicants should have QTS or equivalent and experience in UK secondary schools, with strong subject knowledge across computing.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching IT, ICT or Computer Science in a UK secondary school.
• Confident delivering lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Experience with GCSE Computer Science or Creative iMedia is advantageous.
• Experience with vocational IT qualifications at KS5 would be beneficial.
• Strong subject knowledge across computing and digital technology.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Enhanced DBS Check (or prepared to undergo).

Responsibilities

• Teaching IT, ICT and Computer Science across KS3 and KS4.
• Delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons.
• Supporting GCSE Computer Science and Creative iMedia study.
• Teaching topics including programming, cybersecurity, networks and digital literacy.
• Developing students’ problem-solving and computational thinking.
• Supporting practical coursework and assessments.
• Planning and delivering lessons in line with the curriculum.
• Maintaining positive classroom behaviour and an inclusive environment.
• Collaborating with the department and school team.
