Job summary

Quest Primary School, part of The Collegiate Trust, is seeking a skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support high‑quality teaching and learning across the school. You will work under SLT guidance and cover classes independently, delivering curriculum lessons and targeted interventions.

The role requires HLTA status or an equivalent qualification, GCSEs in English and maths, and experience with primary children, SEND and safeguarding. A positive, supportive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or an equivalent qualification.
• GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and maths.
• Experience covering whole classes in primary settings.
• Good safeguarding understanding and behaviour management.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Experience supporting intervention groups and SEND.

Responsibilities

• Cover classes independently and teach curriculum lessons.
• Provide PPA and release cover as scheduled by SLT.
• Plan, deliver and assess targeted intervention and booster groups.
• Provide pastoral care and support for children with SEND.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and a safe learning environment.
• Break and lunchtime supervision.
