Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an experienced History Teacher for day-to-day supply and long-term contracts in South Wiltshire, starting January 2027. The role covers teaching History to KS4, with focus on engaging lessons, assessment, and contributing to the wider school community.

Flexible placement options include short-term daily bookings and longer contracts for continuity. Candidates should hold QTS with History, have strong classroom management, and be able to plan, deliver, assess and adapt

Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage classrooms and positive behaviour in a secondary setting.
• Strong communication skills with students, parents and colleagues.
• Experience planning, delivering and assessing History lessons.
• Willingness to work flexibly across supply and long-term placements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging History lessons up to KS4 to support progress.
• Assess student progress and adapt teaching to meet needs.
• Develop chronological understanding and evidence-based arguments in class.
• Contribute to wider school life through teamwork and continuous improvement.
