Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking qualified History Teachers for day-to-day supply and long-term contract opportunities across South Wiltshire and surrounding areas, commencing January 2027. Roles suit those who enjoy flexible scheduling, varied placements and supporting students to reach their academic potential.

Successful candidates will hold QTS with History, teach up to KS4, and deliver inclusive lessons while maintaining strong classroom management and assessment practices.

Qualifications

• QTS with History specialization; experience teaching History up to KS4 required.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management.
• Strong communication, planning and assessment skills.
• Willingness to engage with CPD and progression programmes.
• Flexibility to accept day-to-day or long-term placements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver inclusive History lessons.
• Assess pupil progress and provide timely feedback.
• Deliver engaging, moving beyond the textbook to evaluate evidence.
• Contribute to wider school life and behaviour management initiatives.
