Job summary

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working within the EYFS and a secure understanding of effective early years practice.
• Applicants should hold HLTA status or an appropriate Level 4 qualification, or be willing to work towards this.

Responsibilities

• organise and manage stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments and continuous provision;
• support the planning and delivery of engaging learning opportunities through purposeful play, adult led teaching and continuous provision, meeting the needs and interests of the children;
• lead planned learning activities for individuals, groups and the whole class, including providing class cover when required, under the direction of the teacher;
• support the development of children's communication and language, early reading, phonics, writing and early mathematical skills;
• observe and assess children's learning and development, providing regular and detailed feedback about their achievements, progress and next steps;
• adapt and deliver learning activities for individual children and small groups, including children with SEND or additional needs;
• promote children's independence, confidence, emotional development and positive relationships;
• encourage inclusion and ensure that every child is able to participate fully;
• support children with their personal care needs, where required;
• prioritise the safeguarding, welfare and wellbeing of children at all times;
• develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, parents and carers; and
• attend relevant meetings, training and planning sessions as required.
