Job summary

Bedford Free School invites applications for Exam Invigilators to join a team supporting successful examination seasons. You will set up rooms, manage papers and ensure adherence to exam regulations with a calm, confident presence.

Ideal candidates are reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team, maintaining confidentiality and applying instructions accurately while supporting safeguarding and welfare of students.

Qualifications

• Be reliable, flexible and readily available during main exam periods.
• Have effective communication skills and be suitably dressed.
• Work well as part of a team.
• Be confident and a reassuring authoritative presence to candidates in exam rooms.
• Be able to give instructions and manage situations involving different groups of people.
• Have good IT skills.
• Be able to memorize rules and regulations from JCQ.
• Understand and apply detailed written instructions with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Maintain Confidentiality.
• Use initiative in response to unexpected situations.

Responsibilities

• Set up exam rooms and prepare papers; distribute and collect examination materials.
• Assist during exams and ensure proper conduct in accordance with rules.
• Support the line manager with scheduling and communication during exam seasons.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgement in handling information.
• Be vigilant about safeguarding and welfare of candidates.
