Marchant Recruitment is assisting an outstanding school in Wandsworth to recruit an English Teacher for KS3 and KS4. The role involves delivering engaging lessons, supporting GCSE preparation and developing students' reading, writing and analytical skills.

The successful candidate will hold QTS or an equivalent qualification, have experience teaching English at secondary level and be able to manage classes, plan effectively and contribute to curriculum development within a supportive department.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent qualification required.
• Experience teaching English at secondary level.
• Strong knowledge of KS3 and KS4 English curriculum.
• Ability to teach language and literature effectively.
• Excellent communication, planning and classroom management skills.
• Commitment to helping students improve literacy and exam performance.

Responsabilités

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Teach English Language and English Literature in line with the curriculum.
• Develop students' reading comprehension, creative writing and analytical skills.
• Support students in studying novels, poetry, plays and non-fiction texts.
• Prepare pupils for GCSE assessments and examinations.
• Adapt teaching materials to support students with different abilities and learning needs.
• Mark written work and provide clear feedback to improve responses.
• Encourage discussion, independent thought and confident communication.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and a positive classroom atmosphere.
• Work collaboratively with departmental colleagues on planning, assessment and curriculum development.
