Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher for Rayleigh, Essex, to join a welcoming secondary academy from January 2027. You will deliver English Language and Literature across KS3–KS5, plan engaging lessons, and support GCSE/A-Level preparation with effective assessment.

The ideal candidate holds QTS, has strong subject knowledge, and can differentiate lessons to support varied abilities while maintaining high expectations and driving pupil progress.

Qualifications

• Holds a QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Proven ability to develop students’ analytical writing and critical thinking.
• Experience delivering English Language and Literature across KS3–KS5.

Responsibilities

• Teach English Language and Literature across KS3–KS5.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons to develop reading comprehension and written communication.
• Prepare GCSE and A-Level students for examinations with structured assessment and feedback.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and department resources.
