Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to inspire GCSE and KS3 learners in Blackburn this September. You will lead engaging English Language and Literature lessons, adapt to varied ability levels, and support progression toward strong GCSE outcomes.

Choose between two pathways: daily supply (£120-£140/day) with flexible hours or longer-term and contract roles (£150-£220/day) offering curriculum planning and ongoing assessment, with competitive weekly pay through PAYE.

Qualifications

• QTS alongside a degree in English or related subject.
• Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 (GCSE level).
• Strong adaptability to existing schemes of work.
• Excellent communication skills and a confident classroom presence.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or readiness to process one).

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-impact English Language and Literature lessons tailored to diverse learning styles.
• Track student progress, providing clear, actionable feedback to drive GCSE attainment.
• Maintain a structured, focused, and positive classroom environment using proactive behavior strategies.
• Work collaboratively with the English department, SENCOs, and school leadership on curriculum goals.
• Engage fully with the school ethos while promoting high standards of literacy across all year groups.
