About The Role

Early Years Support Worker - Ambler Primary School and Children's Centre

Contract: Permanent, 27.5 hours per week. Term Time Only or All Year Round

Salary Range: NJC Scale 2

Actual Salary: £20,586 - £24,085 per annum

Required for: September/October 2026

We are looking to appoint two dynamic, enthusiastic, creative and committed Early Years Support Workers to join our award-winning Early Years team.

1.Early Years Support Worker (Term Time Only)

This role will work with children from babies through to Reception across our Early Years Inclusion Provision and classrooms. The successful candidate will provide high-quality targeted support and planned interventions for children with identified or emerging additional needs, alongside supporting teaching and learning across the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Working pattern: Monday-Friday, 9.00am-3.00pm, Term Time Only.

2.Centre-Wide Early Years Support Worker (All Year Round)

This role works across the whole Early Years setting, supporting children from babies through to Reception according to the needs of the provision. The practitioner will work within different rooms and age groups across the week and contribute to maintaining high-quality care, learning and play opportunities throughout the centre.

Working pattern: A fortnightly timetable will be provided, with rotational shifts of 8.00am-2.00pm and 12.00pm-6.00pm, All Year Round.

Please note that all shift patterns are subject to change in line with the operational needs of the setting.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Excellent knowledge and experience of providing high-quality care and education for babies and young children
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply a strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculumAbility to plan, prepare and deliver activities for children's individual needs
  • Ability to monitor, assess and write quality observations
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to follow and embed whole school initiatives
  • A commitment to improving outcomes for all our children and families as part of multi-agency team working
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding Policies and Procedures for in line with school policies and procedures, and Government guidance.
