Job summary

Choice Teachers are recruiting a confident, enthusiastic and motivated Cover Supervisor to join an excellent secondary school in Birkenhead on a full-time, temporary basis, with a fantastic opportunity for the right person to secure a long-term position. As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes in the absence of the usual teacher, deliver pre-prepared lessons and create a positive, calm learning environment.

You will manage behaviour, support pupils and work closely with teaching staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school environment or keen to take the next step into education.
• Teaching qualifications are not essential.
• Must hold Enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for supervising classes in the absence of the usual teacher.
• Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure pupils remain focused and engaged.
• Create a positive, calm and productive learning environment.
• Manage classroom behaviour confidently and consistently.
• Support pupils with their learning and encourage them to achieve their best.
• Work closely with teaching staff and the wider school team.
• Become a valued and trusted member of the school community.
