Job summary

E-ACT Crest Academy in City of London seeks a Cover Supervisor to keep learning on track across subjects, supervising pre-set work and maintaining a positive learning environment. You will manage behaviour and support students to stay engaged with set tasks and teacher absence coverage.

The role is 37 hours per week over 39 weeks per year, with NJC pay scales (£25,983–£28,185.33 + ILW £3,518.11) and a full-time FTE range (£29,542–£32,046 + ILW).

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent).
• Knowledge of how children learn and strategies to support learning.
• Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
• Confidence using ICT to support teaching and learning.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students completing pre-set work, ensuring lessons run smoothly in the teacher’s absence.
• Monitor progress, providing feedback to both students and teaching staff.
• Communicate lesson outcomes and report any issues or concerns to appropriate staff.
• Manage classroom behaviour to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
• Support student engagement, encouraging participation and independent learning.
