Job summary

Unity Education Limited is seeking a Cover Supervisor in Basildon to support secondary pupils across KS3/KS4. This is a full-time/temporary role paying £105–£145 per day, with responsibilities including managing behaviour, upholding school policies and creating an inclusive learning environment.

The ideal candidate will have relevant school experience, strong communication skills and safeguarding training. The position offers onsite school-based hours with accessible transport links.

Qualifications

• No formal degree is required to work as a cover supervisor (although this is preferred).
• Prior experience working in a school setting is preferred.
• Advanced safeguarding completed (we offer free online training).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Covering a variety of pre-set lessons to key stage 3 and 4 pupils (you are not required to plan or mark).
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively.
• Following the school’s policies, promoting the school’s ethos and values.
• Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Establishing positive relationships with the pupils in lessons being covered.
