Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd is seeking a Cover Supervisor to work in secondary schools across Southend-on-Sea. You will supervise classes, deliver pre-planned lessons, and ensure a positive learning environment while following safeguarding rules.

Ideal candidates are graduates or those with teaching-related experience, with DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one. This role offers flexible working and opportunities for longer placements.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Confident in managing groups in a classroom.
• Flexible, reliable and professional approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Deliver pre-planned lessons and instructions.
• Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Ensure students stay engaged and complete assigned work.
• Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff where required.
