Job summary

St Leonards School in St Andrews is seeking a Cover Supervisor (Ad Hoc) to maintain continuity of learning when teaching staff are absent. You will supervise classes, ensure pre-set work is completed, and uphold a safe, respectful classroom environment.

The role focuses on managing pupil behaviour, supporting learning without replacing specialist input, recording attendance, and handling ad-hoc supervisory tasks as required by senior staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils in the cover space and ensure engagement with pre-set work.
• Deliver and explain pre-set work and provide guidance where appropriate.
• Maintain a safe, orderly learning environment in line with school policy.
• Register pupil attendance and liaise with the School Office regarding duties.
• Uphold the ethos and values of St Leonards School at all times.
• Undertake ad-hoc supervisory or administrative duties as required by senior staff.
