Job summary

Ridgewood School in Doncaster is seeking a friendly Cover Supervisor to join our team. You will deliver pre-planned lessons to pupils under supervision, adjust activities to student needs, and support the learning environment during teacher absence.

The role is 37 hours per week, term time only plus one day, with a six-month probationary period and DBS safeguarding checks in place. GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above are required.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above.
• Must be adaptable and friendly with pupils.
• Willingness to undertake appropriate training.
• Six month probationary period.
• Safeguarding checks including enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Provide students with necessary resources for their learning.
• Answer students’ queries regarding the instructions left by the subject teacher.
• Produce lessons/work plans/worksheets as directed.
• Register and record student attendance in lessons.
• Ensure classes enter and exit classrooms in an orderly fashion, following school protocols.
• Ensure classrooms are left tidy and ready for the next lesson.
• Liaise with Heads of Departments to answer queries about work set by the subject teacher.
• Support pupils/staff in allocated department(s).
• Invigilate examinations and tests as required.
• Discipline pupils within school policies; training will be provided on the discipline system.
• Assist with behaviour team duties including On Call and whole school duties.
• Assist with school technician duties as required.
• Participate in personal annual review process.
• Commit to Health, Safety and Welfare responsibilities.
• Co-operate with employer on Health, Safety and Welfare issues.
• Undertake other reasonable tasks as requested by Headteacher.
• Attend appropriate training if required.
