Job summary

David Ross Education Trust in Northampton is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to support learning when teachers are absent. You will supervise pupils, provide clear instructions, and maintain a positive learning environment during lessons.

You will liaise with Subject Leaders and Learning Support Assistants to ensure appropriate work is delivered, clarify instructions, and follow up on any issues arising from cover sessions.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English are required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience supporting students in an educational setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in the absence of their teacher.
• Consult with Subject Leaders to clarify instructions.
• Liaise with LSAs regarding students supported in class.
• Give clear instructions and supervise students during work.
• Follow up on issues with cover lessons with subject leaders.
• Observe and be present in relevant lessons to become familiar with students and approaches.
• Ad-hoc short-term cover in unforeseen circumstances.
