Job summary

Experis is seeking a DV Cleared L3 WINTEL Infrastructure Engineer / SME (VDI) for on-site work in Corsham. The role runs to 31/12/2026 with likely extension and offers a daily rate up to £700 via approved umbrella company.

You will own incidents end-to-end, support secure operational environments, and contribute to system integrity and knowledge base while coordinating with multiple teams and vendors.

Qualifications

• Strong Windows Server experience (2012/2016 or later).
• Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy management.
• Incident management and ownership in live environments.
• Solid networking understanding for infrastructure services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Level 3 WINTEL & VDI support for secure operations (8am-5pm).
• Manage incidents escalated from Level 3 with OEMs and resolver groups.
• Install, configure, deploy and maintain third-party software and services for system operations.
• Maintain external messaging interface services.
• Onboard, build where needed, and update system nodes.
• Apply and manage system updates including GAL replication and WSUS patching.
• Implement Level 3 WINTEL changes on system hubs.
• Support upgrades through infrastructure development and testing.
• Contribute to Knowledge Articles and follow build instructions.

DV Cleared L3 WINTEL Infrastructure Engineer / Subject Matter Expert (VDI)
Location: Corsham
Duration: until 31/12/2026 with likely extension
Rate: Up to £700 per day via am approved umbrella company
Must be willing and eligible to go through the DV clearance process

If you're a senior infrastructure professional who enjoys owning incidents end-to-end and keeping secure, live systems running, this is a role where your expertise truly matters. Hiring for a reputed client, you'll support operational deployable classified systems on-site in Corsham-helping deliver reliable services, resolve escalations, and keep technology integrity at the centre.

What you'll be doing:

• Deliver Level 3 WINTEL & VDI support for secure operational environments within core hours (8am-5pm)
• Manage and resolve incidents escalated from Level 3, collaborating with OEMs, functional teams and resolver groups
• Install, configure, deploy and maintain third-party software and services tied to system operations
• Maintain external messaging interface services
• Onboard, build where needed, and update system nodes
• Apply and manage system updates, including GAL replication and WSUS patching to assure classified system integrity
• Implement Level 3 WINTEL changes onto system hubs
• Support system upgrades through infrastructure development and testing
• Contribute to Knowledge Articles (create, review, retire) and follow build/support publications and work instructions
• Support service redesign work in conjunction with the SDA service where required
• Use documentation (SOIs, system administration guidance and node materials) to carry out Level 3 build and maintenance tasks

What you'll bring:

• Strong Microsoft Windows Server experience (2012/2016 or later)
• Confidence troubleshooting and supporting Active Directory and Group Policy management
• Experience with incident management and problem ownership in live operational environments
• Strong networking understanding supporting infrastructure services
• Solid PowerShell and other scripting capability
• Experience using SCCM/MECM (management and troubleshooting)
• Ability to create and maintain accurate technical documentation
• Knowledge of patching and update processes for secure environments
