Job summary

LA International is recruiting a Wintel & VDI engineer for a 3-month on-site contract in Corsham. The role focuses on building and maintaining Windows server infrastructure with Active Directory and managing VDI environments using Horizon/Citrix/RDS.

Candidates with strong virtualization (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V) and scripting (PowerShell, Python) skills are preferred. Security clearance may be required and can take up to ~18 weeks to obtain.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, deploying and maintaining Windows Server infrastructure including Active Directory.
• Experience in VDI management and desktop virtualization solutions (VMware Horizon, Citrix, RDS).
• Strong virtualization knowledge (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V).
• Scripting for automation (PowerShell, Python).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and hybrid cloud is a plus.

Responsibilities

Location: Full time onsite in Corsham

Duration: 3 months initial

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Required

• design, deploy, and maintain Windows-based server infrastructure, including Active Directory.
• Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Management: Oversee the configuration, deployment, and management of VDI solutions, such as VMware Horizon or Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, to provide efficient and secure desktop virtualization for end-users.
• Hands-on experience with VDI solutions such as VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, or Microsoft Remote Desktop Services.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and task automation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and hybrid cloud environments is a plus.
