Job summary

LA International Computer Consultants Ltd is seeking a 2nd Line WINTEL Engineer to manage Windows server estates, assess requests and deliver fast, accurate requirements for UK clients.

The role involves hands-on work with VMware virtualization, AD/DNS/WSUS, NetApp and Cohesity backups, and System Centre Operations, plus scripting to automate tasks. You will contribute to secure, compliant deployments and escalations as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
• Hands-on with Active Directory, DNS and WSUS.
• Proficient in VMware virtualization and backup solutions.
• Scripting capabilities and familiarity with System Centre.

• Review and respond to Windows-related tickets within SLA.
• Build, patch, and maintain Windows Server images and configurations.
• Assist in server builds, upgrades, and site deployments.

Job description

2nd Line WINTEL Engineer

• Your role will involve reviewing Customer Windows related work requests with quick turn-around responses for more complete and detailed requirements.
• Using automation, build images, build documents, work instructions, build and configure Windows Servers (the majority being virtual and hosted on VMware clusters).
• Builds and racking of physical serves with Customer DC and computer rooms.
• Update and maintain existing gold build images.
• Patching and upgrades of windows Servers.
• Capacity Management Reporting & attending Bi-Weekly Engineering meetings providing progress updates on outstanding tickets.
• Ensure server builds adhere to Customer standards for all areas of work undertaken, attend Customer sites when required to ensure deliverables are completed within target SLA's and KPI's (ie document reviews/system installation).
• Raise immediately any risks, issues that may impact (a) costs or (b) delivery to timescales or (c) overall solution deployments.
• Assist in testing activities.
• You will be working from assigned service desk tickets to Investigate, assess and resolve customer and system issues in timescales laid down in SLA's in accordance with defined procedures and adhere to all IS Policy documents, including Change & Release, Configuration, and Security etc
• Maintain the security of the network services in accordance with the Establishment's Security Operating Orders and current process documentation.
