Salt Creating Futures Ltd is seeking a Technical Communications Desk Assistant in Westminster. The role is office-based, 5 days a week, with an initial 3–6 month contract and a day rate of £350–£375.

You will deliver a professional communications service to government colleagues, handle calls from external contacts, and set up conference calls with senior attendees. The role focuses mainly on customer service and call handling, with around 90% contact-centre tasks and 10% first-line technical

Qualifications

• Current DV clearance is required.
• Experience in customer service, call handling or service desk environments.
• Excellent telephone manner and listening skills.
• Patient, professional and customer-focused.
• Confident communicating with senior staff and VIPs.
• Attention to detail when recording messages and routing calls.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage urgent enquiries.
• Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
• Willingness to learn standard IT systems and basic support procedures.

Responsabilités

• Answer internal and external calls promptly and courteously.
• Direct callers to the right person or team and take accurate messages.
• Provide discreet service to government colleagues, officials and VIPs.
• Handle calls from external contacts, including press, using established procedures.
• Set up and coordinate conference calls with senior attendees.
• Follow procedures to ensure accurate conference call setup and connections.
• Provide basic first-line technical assistance within training remit.
• Record enquiries and escalate complex issues to appropriate teams.
• Follow information security and confidentiality rules at all times.
• Support colleagues during busy periods and give clear handovers.
