Job summary

Synergize Consulting Ltd. seeks a Contract Security Architect (Platform security) to design, build and assure backend platform and endpoint security in secure, offline environments. The role requires delivering security controls, architecture documentation and vulnerability management across air-gapped systems.

DV clearance is essential. The position is hybrid remote based in Salisbury, working with Infrastructure, Platform and Security teams under NIST and MOD-aligned policies for a UK

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Security Architect/Engineer or senior SME in secure/high-assurance environments.
• Experience designing and delivering platform security controls including firewall, ports, protocols, AV/EDR, vulnerability management and endpoint hardening.
• Experience working in offline/air-gapped environments.
• Strong understanding of patching/update models, AV signature management, threat intel and controlled data transfer.
• Experience producing formal documentation: HLDs/LLDs, security architecture docs and SOPs.
• Experience supporting security accreditation, assurance and compliance processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design and implementation of endpoint and platform security solutions.
• Design security controls aligned with MOD policies, NIST CSF and NCSC guidance.
• Develop vulnerability management capabilities: scanning, prioritisation, remediation and reporting.
• Create security solutions for offline/air-gapped environments including update/patch distribution.
• Set up secure mechanisms for threat intel ingestion and data transfer in disconnected environments.
• Define vulnerability scanning regimes and remediation processes.
• Advise on endpoint hardening, firewall rules, ports, protocols and system security controls.
• Produce penetration testing scopes for backend platforms and endpoints.
• Maintain formal technical documentation (HLDs, LLDs, SOPs).
