Salt Digital Recruitment is seeking a DV Cleared Network Engineer to join a global security practice in London on-site. You will design, build, test, and support mission-critical network infrastructure to protect national and international defense capabilities.

The role requires active DV clearance and 10+ years of UK residency, with responsibilities including routing protocols, LAN switching, network security, and firewall/IDS/IPS configurations.

Qualifications

• Deep experience with enterprise routing design and protocols (e.g., OSPF, IS-IS, BGP).
• Strong LAN switching knowledge in SME/data center environments.

DV Cleared Network Engineer

Location: London (100% On-site)

Salary: Up to £100,000 + 10% Bonus

Security Clearance: Active DV Clearance required (10+ years UK residency essential)

About the Role

We are seeking a Network Engineer to join a global security practice delivering mission-critical infrastructure projects. This role directly supports the safety and resilience of critical national infrastructure and global defense capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Infrastructure Management: Accountable for system design, build, testing, validation, maintenance, and support across all network components.
• Technology Implementation: Deploy new network technologies supporting enterprise and remote site connectivity in line with strategic customer requirements.
• Standards & Hardware: Maintain standards for global networks (wireless, LAN, SD-WAN) and manage physical/virtual hardware setups (routers, switches, firewalls, and monitoring tools).
• Network Security: Implement high-grade network security protocols and manage firewall/IDS/IPS configurations.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Routing & Protocols: Deep experience with enterprise/operator-scale routing design using protocols such as OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, LDP, or RSVP.
• LAN & Switching: Strong knowledge of LAN switching in small-to-medium enterprise and data center environments (e.g., RSTP/MSTP, LAG, MC-LAG, SPB, first-hop security).
• Network Security: Practical expertise implementing network security standards, including MACSEC, IPSEC, and 802.1x.
• Firewalls & Inspection: Hands-on experience with security design, firewall management, and IDS/IPS configuration.

Key Vetting Requirements

• Must hold active Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.
