Job summary

Avanti Recruitment partners with a multinational tech consultancy to hire DV cleared Data Engineers from mid to senior level. You will design and build end-to-end data pipelines on AWS, across secure programmes, moving from ingestion to consumption.

The role is hybrid with offices in London, Bristol, Manchester and Belfast; two days per week on site. Active DV clearance required; you will work with lakehouse patterns and scalable platform components.

Qualifications

• Active DV clearance is required.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services (S3, Glue, Redshift).
• Strong background in building end-to-end data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines from ingestion to consumption.
• Work with lakehouse and medallion architectures (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
• Develop both batch and streaming pipelines as per use case.
• Contribute to decisions on storage, orchestration, governance and security.
• Collaborate with data architects and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust builds.

£55,000 - £70,000 + bonus + benefits | Bristol / Manchester (hybrid)

I'm working with a successful multinational tech consultancy that has secured a number of long-term client programmes and is now looking to bring in several DV Cleared Data Engineers, from mid to senior level, to meet that demand.

If you're DV cleared and have built your career on AWS, this is one where that depth gets used properly. You'll be working across a range of secure, high-impact programmes, building and owning the pipelines and platforms that sit underneath some genuinely complex client work, not just maintaining someone else's build.

What you'll be doing

• Building and maintaining data pipelines end-to-end, from ingestion through to consumption
• Working with modern approaches like lakehouse and medallion architectures (Bronze, Silver, Gold)
• Building both batch and streaming pipelines depending on the use case
• Contributing to decisions around storage, orchestration, governance and security, not just executing a predefined design
• Working with data architects and stakeholders to turn business requirements into solid technical builds
• Operating in secure, regulated environments where attention to detail and sound judgement matter

Tech environment

• AWS across the board, including S3, Glue, Redshift, Lake Formation and Kinesis
• Databricks and Snowflake running on top of AWS
• Spark and distributed processing frameworks for large-scale data
• Streaming technologies such as Kinesis or Kafka

What they're looking for

• Active DV Clearance, must already be held
• Mid to senior level Data Engineers, hands-on with AWS
• Solid understanding of modern data patterns, lakehouse, medallion, streaming
• Experience building pipelines and platform components at scale
• Comfortable working alongside architects, clients and other engineers, not just heads down in isolation
• A practical mindset, someone who makes sensible trade-offs rather than over-engineering
