Job summary

Avanti Recruitment is seeking a DV-cleared Data Engineer to join our client’s secure data platform in a hybrid model across the UK. The role focuses on building end-to-end data pipelines using AWS, Redshift, Databricks, and Snowflake in regulated environments.

You will work with data architects and stakeholders to implement lakehouse, medallion architectures and streaming pipelines, balancing performance with risk.

Qualifications

• Active DV Clearance (already held).
• Mid to senior level data engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with AWS.
• Solid understanding of modern data patterns (lakehouse, medallion, streaming).
• Experience building pipelines and platform components at scale.
• Comfortable working with architects, clients and other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines end-to-end from ingestion to consumption.
• Work with lakehouse and medallion architectures (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
• Build batch and streaming pipelines depending on use case.
• Contribute to decisions around storage, orchestration, governance, and security.
• Collaborate with data architects and stakeholders to translate requirements into builds.
• Operate in secure, regulated environments with attention to detail and sound judgement.

Salary: £55,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements

We are a successful multinational tech consultancy that has secured a number of long-term client programmes and is expanding our team with several DV Cleared Data Engineers from mid to senior level. This is a hands-on engineering role across secure, high-impact programmes where you will build and own the pipelines and platforms underpinning complex client work. Our tech environment is AWS-focused and includes services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Lake Formation, and Kinesis, alongside Databricks and Snowflake on AWS, Spark, and streaming technologies such as Kinesis or Kafka. The role is hybrid, based in Bristol, Manchester, London, or Belfast, with two days a week in the office. The salary is £55,000 to £80,000 plus bonus and benefits.
