Job summary

Avanti Recruitment is seeking a Senior Data Architect for a hybrid role across the UK (Bristol, Manchester or London). You will design end-to-end data platforms on AWS, leveraging lakehouse/medallion patterns and streaming pipelines, with direct engagement of clients and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has an active DV clearance, strong AWS expertise, and a track record of delivering secure, scalable data architectures in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• DV clearance is required and must already be held.
• Strong background in data architecture with hands-on AWS experience.
• Solid understanding of modern data patterns, including lakehouse, medallion and streaming.

Responsibilities

• Design full data platforms end to end, ensuring data flows from ingestion to consumption.
• Work with lakehouse and medallion architectures (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
• Define batch and streaming pipelines based on use case.
• Make decisions around storage, orchestration, governance and security.
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to translate business problems into technical solutions.
• Operate in secure, regulated environments requiring attention to detail.

Salary: £80,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• Active DV Clearance, must already be held
• Strong background in Data Architecture with hands-on AWS experience
• Solid understanding of modern data patterns, including lakehouse, medallion and streaming
• Experience designing full platforms on AWS, not just individual components
• Comfortable working with clients and stakeholders, not just internal teams
• Practical mindset with the ability to make sensible trade-offs rather than over-engineering

We are a successful multinational tech consultancy that has secured a number of long-term client programmes and is hiring several DV Cleared Data Architects to meet that demand. This is an AWS-focused, end-to-end architecture role where you will have real ownership over how data platforms are designed and delivered across secure, high-impact programmes. You will work with AWS services including S3, Glue, Redshift, Lake Formation and Kinesis, alongside Databricks and Snowflake on AWS, with Spark and distributed processing frameworks. The role is hybrid, based across Bristol, Manchester or London, with two days a week in one of our offices. The salary is £80,000 to £100,000 plus bonus and benefits.
