Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer for a permanent role in the Defence & Security sector. Candidates must be eligible for DV level clearance or hold sole UK nationality. You will lead cloud projects, mentor teams, and work on cutting-edge defence technology in a technically demanding environment.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, cloud delivery, and stakeholder engagement, with opportunities to influence strategic programs and bidding activities across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer with AWS expertise.
• Strong background delivering end-to-end cloud projects.
• Skilled in communicating with senior stakeholders.
• Experience in Agile delivery environments.
• Experience mentoring technical delivery teams.
• Ability to develop infrastructure as code (Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams to deliver cloud solutions and manage junior staff.
• Provide technical leadership for programme, project and bidding activities.
• Support cloud staff development and resourcing decisions.
• Develop design certifications, delivery plans and testing schedules.
• Understand market requirements and apply future technology developments to solutions.
• Perform complex engineering tasks to solve customer problems.
