Gattaca is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer for a permanent role in the Defence & Security sector. The successful candidate will lead cloud delivery, mentor teams, and engage with senior stakeholders in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer with AWS.
• Experience developing infrastructure as code with Terraform.
• Experience leading or mentoring technical delivery teams.
• Excellent communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams to deliver cloud solutions and mentor junior staff.
• Provide technical leadership for programme delivery and bidding activities.
• Support development of cloud staff and resource planning.
• Develop design certifications, delivery plans and testing schedules.
• Understand market needs and apply future technologies to solutions.
• Perform complex engineering tasks to address customer problems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading project teams to deliver cloud solutions and managing junior staff to meet customer needs
• Providing technical leadership for the delivery of programme, project, and bidding activities
• Supporting the development of cloud staff and making resourcing decisions
• Developing design certifications, technical delivery plans, and documentation, including testing schedules
• Understanding market requirements and applying future technology developments to technical solutions
• Performing complex engineering assignments to develop creative and practical solutions to customer problems

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer with strong knowledge of AWS cloud services
• Ability to develop and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform
• Experience in leading, mentoring, or managing technical delivery teams
• Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and communicate effectively with non-technical audiences
• Experience working within Agile Delivery environments
