Job summary

Upham Inns in Swindon is seeking a Front of House Team Leader to guide service across busy pubs, develop team members, and uphold the Upham standard of hospitality.

You will lead by example, manage shifts, and ensure exceptional guest experiences while coordinating with kitchen and doors staff. Competitive hourly pay with benefits and growth opportunities accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Proven restaurant experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Great communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
• Good decision-making abilities under pressure.
• Confident and self-motivated.
• Organised with attention to detail.
• General knowledge of food, wine and beer.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for team work, leading and motivating staff.
• Lead pre-session briefings and train staff on new products and promotions.
• Assist in implementing and driving promotional activities.
• Coach team members to upsell and enhance guest experience.
• Resolve issues during shifts promptly, with GM guidance as needed.
• Lead by example to deliver high levels of customer service.
• Coordinate with kitchen and door teams to ensure consistent service.
• Support General and Assistant Managers to run the business smoothly.
• Participate in ongoing training and development.
• Be eager to pursue new opportunities.

Front of house Team Leader Requirements

• Have a proven track record of restaurant experience
• Be at Least 18 year of age due to licensing laws
• You’ll be a great communicator
• You’ll have great decision-making skills
• You should be confident
• You’ll need to be organised
• General knowledge of food, wine and beer
• Have the Right to work in the UK
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Duty Manager Responsibilities:

• Take responsibility for team work, leading and motivating team members
• Hold pre session briefings as and when appropriate and make sure the team are fully briefed and trained on any new amended food and drink products, and any promotional activity
• Assist in implementing and driving promotional activities
• Support and coach team members to upsell
• Deal with any issues that arise during each shift promptly and professionally, seeking advice from the general manager where necessary
• Lead by example to ensure that the highest possible levels of customer service are delivered by team members at all times
• Liaise with other departments Including kitchen and door teams in the business to ensure every customer experiences a consistent level of service
• Assist the General and Assistant Managers as and when necessary to make the business run effectively and efficiently.
• Participating in ongoing training and development
• Must have an eagerness to take advantage of new opportunities

As a Front of House Team Leader, you will need to be able to demonstrate
passion and energy to develop team members resulting in focussed customer
service and exceptional standards.

idyllic settings in country villages and towns, where we are proud to be the
quality local of the area, serving high quality fresh pub food in a cozy pub ambience.
Most of our pubs have some Charming Bedrooms as well. New to our growing family
is Harper's Steakhouse, a new premium American Steakhouse brand that we started
rolling out last year.
