Job summary

Orion Smart Metering is seeking a Dual Fuel Engineer to install smart meters in domestic properties and provide a professional, customer-focused service. You will join a nationwide engineering team and ensure all work complies with safety standards.

The role offers a stable career with strong earning potential, with 45,000 GBP per year base and additional day-rate options. Driving licence and CMA1/CCN1/MET1/MOCOPA qualifications are required.

Job description

Pay & Package Options

Choose the option that suits your circumstances:

1?? Salary Package

• £45,000 per annum.
• 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)
• Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided

2?? Guaranteed Day Rate Option 1

• £200 per day
• Paid via Umbrella PAYE
• Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided

3?? Guaranteed Day Rate Option 2

• £275 per day
• Paid via Umbrella PAYE
• Engineer provides own van & fuel
• Tools & uniform provided

Bonus Breakdown

Boost your earnings with monthly incentives:

KPI Bonus £150 per month

• Achieved by hitting 75% job completion in a calendar month

Attendance Bonus £150 per month

• Awarded for full attendance with no sick days
• Pro-rated for holidays

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday, 8am5pm (1-hour lunch)
• Minimum 4 jobs per day / 20 per week
• Optional weekend work available once weekly targets are met

Call Out

• 1 week in 4 rota
• Standby payments MondaySunday
• Per job rates:
  • £150 per dual install
  • £80 per single
  • £50 per transactional job

Saturday work available (paid at day rate)

Requirements

• Smart Meter Engineering qualification or diploma
• CMA1 or CCN1 & MET1
• MOCOPA certification (or completed during induction)
• Full UK driving licence
• Clean DBS check (recent within 3 months preferred)
• EUSR card (advantageous, not essential)

Driving licence, passport, gas certificates, MOCOPA, qualifications, NI number, references, and DBS.
