Job summary

Orion Smart Metering in the UK is seeking experienced Dual Fuel Engineers to join our expanding nationwide team. You will install domestic smart meters and deliver a professional, customer-focused service. This full-time role offers a competitive salary of £45,000 per year, plus day-rate options (£200–£275) and monthly KPI/Attendance bonuses.

A company van, fuel card, tools, and uniform are provided. You must hold a Smart Metering qualification with CMA1/CCN1, MOCOPA, and a full UK driving

Qualifications

• Smart Meter Engineering qualification or diploma.
• CMA1/CCN1 & MET1 certifications.
• MOCOPA certification (or completed during induction).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Clean DBS check (recent).

Responsibilities

• Install smart meters safely and efficiently in domestic properties.
• Deliver a professional, customer-focused service.
• Ensure all work meets industry safety and compliance standards.
• Represent Orion as part of a nationwide engineering team.

Education

Smart Meter Engineering qualification or diploma

CMA1 or CCN1 & MET1

MOCOPA certification

Full UK driving licence

Job description

At Orion Smart Metering, we’re proud to work with some of the UK’s biggest energy and metering companies.

As we continue to grow our national contracts, we’re looking for experienced Dual Fuel Engineers to join our expanding team.

Pay & Package Options

• Salary Package
  £45,000 per annum.
  33 days holiday (including bank holidays)
  Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided
• Guaranteed Day Rate – Option 1
  £200 per day
  Paid via Umbrella PAYE
  Company van, fuel card, tools & uniform provided
• Guaranteed Day Rate – Option 2
  £275 per day
  Paid via Umbrella PAYE
  Engineer provides own van & fuel
  Tools & uniform provided
• Bonus Breakdown
  KPI Bonus – £150 per month (Achieved by hitting 75% job completion in a calendar month)
  Attendance Bonus – £150 per month (Awarded for full attendance with no sick days, pro‑rated for holidays)

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm (1-hour lunch)
Minimum 4 jobs per day / 20 per week
Optional weekend work available once weekly targets are met
Call Out: 1 week in 4 rota, Standby payments Monday–Sunday
Per job rates: £150 per dual install, £80 per single, £50 per transactional job
Saturday work available (paid at day rate)

• Smart Meter Engineering qualification or diploma

• EUSR card (advantageous, not essential)

Documents required: Driving licence, passport, gas certificates, MOCOPA, qualifications, NI number, references, and DBS.
