Job summary

DO & CO is seeking a capable operations leader to oversee a dedicated team in its luxury air-catering production unit in the UK. You will ensure effective team development, maintain workflow discipline, and guarantee high standards of packed goods while coordinating with the Dish Room and other departments.

You will drive continuous improvement, supervise compliance with safety and quality processes, and communicate with management using clear, data-driven reports.

Qualifications

  • Able to provide feedback, direction and development for staff.
  • Proven ability to analyse data and improve operations.

Responsibilities

  • Strategically leading the team to ensure development, direction and constructive feedback.
  • Ensure smooth workflow aligned with daily schedule and on-time flight packing.
  • Maintain quality and quantity of all packed goods according to specs.
  • Manage equipment storage and coordinate with Dish Room for flow of gear.
  • Drive housekeeping standards and safe, compliant operations.
  • React quickly to last-minute flight changes and updated requirements.
  • Limit operational risks by adhering to SOPs and safety standards.
  • Build strong relationships with airline stores and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide productivity reports and performance indicators to management.

Job Description
  • Strategically and effectively managing the team, ensuring that they are being developed, have direction, and are provided with meaningful feedback
  • Ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow that aligns with the daily schedule and ensuring on time flight packing
  • Ensuring the quality and the quantity of all packed goods are according to specification and requirements
  • Cleaning and correct storing of all equipment to ensure distribution is accurate and in a timely manner- working closely with Dish Room department for even equipment flow
  • Managing all work areas, maintaining housekeeping rules, and promoting best working practices
  • Reacting quickly and efficiently to last minute flight, aircraft changes, specifications, and requirements
  • Understanding of functional and departmental goals as well as overall DO & CO business strategy
  • Being a role model and leading a team to ensure the exceptional DO & CO quality is delivered on time with maximum efficiency in accordance with DO & CO standards
  • Ensuring operations adhere to all SOP’s and ALL relevant Critical Control Points, Health and Safety, Food safety and all legal requirements at all times
  • Defining systems of working to ensure quality of product, problems are resolved with solutions and continuous improvement initiatives are instigated
  • Building and maintaining relationships with Airline stores to manage flow of stock and internal ordering if required
  • Providing reports on productivity and other performance indicators to management
  • Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with all section managers, ensuring the provision of a positive and professional service that elevates the DO & CO reputation and any highlighted problems have an implemented solution
  • Driving success by proactively managing team performance, provide development and succession planning opportunities
  • Ensuring the effective development, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures, ensuring they are compliant and consistently applied
  • Proactively taking steps to ensure own skills and knowledge continue to improve and are demonstrated in the operations
  • Forward, strategic thinking leader always looking to exceed targets and expectations of the unit whilst maintaining the collectiveness of the team and culture of DO & CO (Ensure OTIF performance is maintained)
  • Maintaining good working relationships with all DO & CO family members
  • Taking responsibility for all your actions, support your team, and celebrate successes as a family
  • Should be able to manager Equipment department and take decisions accordingly

  • Passion for high-end cuisine, love for food and motivation to deliver exceptional service
  • Well presented, professional individual with a can-do, positive attitude that indulges in team success
  • The ability to be a positive change champion for DO & CO, identifying key impact areas and priorities and supporting change programmes and strategies in order to gain optimal results
  • Exceptional attention to detail and data driven with the ability to influence and educate
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues, mentoring and motivating, creating a team spirit, encouraging them to be at their best
  • You are a clear and engaging communicator, strong written and verbal English, and will use a variety of methods to keep the team well informed
  • Flexible in the way you think, making decisions efficiently and handling change to ensure everything we do is right for our partners and the DO & CO family
  • Have a great understanding and working knowledge of the whole unit and be the expert in delivering practical actions for its improvement by taking a hands‑on approach
  • Previous experience in a similar role or experience within a fast‑paced environment
  • Proficient in excel with excellent working knowledge of reporting
  • Financial awareness - good, strong numerical reasoning ability as precise and accurate reporting is required to Senior Management
  • Fast-paced working environment
  • Microsoft Office experience
