Job summary

Gressingham Foods is seeking a proactive Stores Assistant to control stock levels, receive deliveries and ensure paperwork is completed daily. You will operate the stores, check deliveries against notes and help keep aisles clear and safe.

Working hours Monday to Friday 6am–4.30pm with starting rate £13.45 (probation to £13.80). Experience with forklift and manual handling preferred; strong communication and attention to detail essential.

Qualifications

• Good communication and team collaboration.
• Able to perform manual handling tasks safely.
• Computer literacy for stock systems and records.
• Forklift licence and experience with forklift operat ion.
• Ability to deal with staff and suppliers professionally.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Flexible to accommodate store needs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain stock levels to prevent out-of-stock situations.
• Rotate stock and ensure proper segregation/identification.
• Keep stores tidy and routes clear for safety.
• Receive goods, unload vehicles and sign deliveries.
• Store deliveries before close of day with documentation.
• Issue PPE controls and complete PPE forms as required.
• Ensure safe storage of all items and safety of staff.
• Liaise with managers regarding daily department requirements.
• Assist with other management requests to ensure smooth operations.
