About the Role:
We are looking for a committed and compassionate Driving SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our SEN Outreach Team, supporting children from Primary SEN settings across Torbay and Paignton. This rewarding role involves working outside of mainstream school settings to provide personalised support that helps children with special educational needs reach their full potential.
As part of the outreach model, you will be expected to escort pupils in your own vehicle, ensuring safe and timely travel to and from learning environments. A full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle are essential.
Deliver focused 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN in off-site or community-based settings.
Transport and supervise children safely using your own vehicle (mileage allowance available).
Work collaboratively with school SENCOs, outreach coordinators, and other professionals to deliver EHCP-aligned learning support.
Help manage challenging behaviour and provide emotional regulation support as needed.
Keep accurate records and provide detailed session feedback to the wider team.
Proven experience supporting children with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties).
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (business insurance may be required).
A flexible, calm, and patient approach to working with young people.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
Relevant training or qualifications in SEN support are advantageous but not essential.
Daily pay between £88 and £95, depending on experience.
Term-time only role with consistent hours.
Mileage reimbursement for travel using your own vehicle.
