ABB UK’s Technical & Applications Support team within the drives business seeks an experienced engineer to provide technical and applications support for ABB drives across OEM markets. You will work in a hybrid model and report to the Technical Support Team Leader, contributing to energy efficiency and reliability through advanced drive solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical and applications support, working in OEM markets.
• Strong customer focus and problem-solving skills.
• Proven background in drives and PLC technical and application support.
• Motion control or servo experience is a plus.
• Qualification in electrical engineering or related discipline preferred.
• Knowledge of variable speed drive systems.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to partners, customers and colleagues on ABB drives portfolio.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries with technical and applications support.
• Deliver technically appropriate and value-added solutions for customers and applications.
• Collaborate with drives factories, OEM hubs and relevant support functions.
• Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase ABB drives portfolio.

Salary: £63,000 - 103,000 per year

Requirements

• Strong customer focus and problem-solving skills
• Experience in technical and application support, working in OEM markets and related customer applications
• Motion control / servo experience preferable
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across the local business, factory teams and supporting functions
• Qualifications in electrical engineering or related discipline preferred
• Knowledge and proven experience in variable speed drive systems
• Several years of proven background in drives and PLC technical and application support
• Passionate about technology, innovation, sustainability and energy efficiency
• Full UK driving licence

• Provide technical support to partners, customers and colleagues on our ABB drives portfolio
• Respond with urgency to customer enquiries and deliver technical and applications support
• Support the delivery and implementation of the most technically appropriate and value-added solutions for relevant customers and applications
• Work with experts to stay updated on new product features and customer and market requirements
• Collaborate with the drives factories, OEM hubs and relevant support functions
• Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the value and benefits of our ABB drives portfolio
• Provide project support, on-site support, assistance and maintenance, and deliver technical training
• Comply with our integrity and ethics programs and complete relevant training
